Ma intorc la tine iar si iar … Madrid drag. I come back to Madrid again and again. The Spanish capital is the only city from the many I’ve visited that “tricked” me into coming back. I could almost say it’s my second home. This time, I had a specific purpose: the Champions League game between Real and Borussia Dortmund. The final score was 2-2 and Real Madrid finished second, but it was no reason to be upset, the match was spectacular on the field and in the stands. For the first time ever, I was part of the Real Madrid choreography. Need I mention that I ‘m already missing Madrid? This is how I’ve seen from the stands the player’s pre-match training session, the choreography and the joy after the home team’s goals.

Today I’m watching the Romanian version of the famous football game: “El Clasico”: Steaua – Dinamo. I tried to remember how many times I have seen this match from the stands and I started to count the tickets. That’s right … I collect them.

I’m one of the lucky people that saw twice the most spectacular football match of our days (at least from my point of view) El Clasico: Real Madrid – Barcelona. I wasn’t lucky enough to witness a Madrid victory on Santiago Bernabeu (one match ended 1-1 and the other 1-3), but it was totally worth it; the feeling of watching the two teams play and hearing the crowd chanting was amazing. What’s your prediction for today’s match?

…Or, when over there is better than over here.

“De Madrid al cielo” , is the Spanish way of saying that, after their city, only the Heaven is more beautiful, and only with one condition: to have a „window” in the sky  that overlooks the capital city of Spain, so that you could watch everything that’s happening there.

My love story with Madrid began about three years ago, when I first got there. It felt like home from the first moment. As Romanians, it’s normal for us to adapt quickly over there, they are as talkative as us, we can learn quickly the language, and they have similar habits.

Since then, I’ve returned 7 times to Madrid – I’ve come a long way from the girl who used to say that she’ll never visit the same place twice, I’m a Madrid-junkie now. Sometimes, I miss that place so much that I close my eyes and I imagine that I’m there, on the streets that never sleep.
