Ziua a patra in Rodos a fost si cea mai activa pentru noi pana acum. Am vizitat cateva locuri incredibil de frumoase. Caldura a fost sufocanta, dar a meritat din plin. Din comoditate, am preferat sa nu mergem in excursie pe cont propriu. Am ales din oferta agentiei de turism care ne-a preluat aici, si acum pot sa spun ca am facut foarte bine. Nu a trebuit sa imi fac griji in legatura cu traseul, totul a fost foarte bine organizat, iar detaliile oferite de ghid pe traseu au fost chiar interesante. Our fourth day in Rhodes was also the most active. We’ve seen some truly amazing places. It was a very hot day, but it was worth it. Out of commodity, we did not organize the trip ourselves and we chose from the tour operator’s offer. Now I can say it was a good choice, we had no worries about the objectives and how to get to them, everything was very well organized and the stories told by our guide along the way were very informative and entertaining.

For a quick, easy and cheap lunch, all you need are 10 minutes and:

  • baby spinach
  • cheese
  • corn
  • shanghai chicken

REWIEW: TRATTORIA BUONGIORNO

Incet-incet descopar ca imi place foarte mult sa va scriu despre … mancare. Asta si pentru ca sunt gurmanda de cand ma stiu. Cu greu ma convingea mama in copilarie sa nu mananc toata ciocolata intr-o singura zi si sa pastrez si pentru restul saptamanii. Principiul e simplu: “Traieste clipa”. Ma bucur pe moment de ce am si daca nu imi ramane si pentru mai tarziu … pai atunci asta e. Macar am fost fericita mai devreme.

Sa trecem deci, la fapte. Saptamana trecuta mi-am delectat papilele gustative la Trattoria Buongiorno (de pe Lascar Catargiu).

Am incercat Ravioli rosso con Buratta in traducere libera: Ravioli proaspete, muguri de pin, smântână dulce, parmezan. Buuunnnn rau de tot, iar sosul de smantana a fost perfect, nu a ingreunat deloc preparatul.

I’m just realizing that I love to write for you about … food. It’s because I’ve been a food lover since I can remember. In my childhood, my mom could barely get me to save a piece of chocolate for the next day. It’s really easy actually: I prefer to live in the moment and enjoy what I have now. If I don’t save some for later … it’s not a loss. At least I was happy while it lasted.

Let’s get down to business. Last week I’ve delighted myself with some delicious food at Trattoria Buongiorno (located on Lascar Catargiu Street).

We’ve tried Ravioli Rosso con Burrata: Fresh ravioli, pine nuts, cream, parmesan. Reallyyyyy tasty. The cream sauce was just right, not heavy at all, just a delight with the rest of the ingredients.

REVIEW: DINING AT SAINT GEORGE, BUCHAREST

Cand nu am timp sau bani sa calatoresc, imi place sa ma simt ca in vacanta in Bucurestiul meu. Asa ca la fiecare pas prin oras incerc sa gasesc frumusetea ascunsa a locurilor prin care trec. Ca sa nu ma plictisesc niciodata, imi place sa ies in locuri cat mai diverse, si sa incerc lucruri cat mai diferite. E valabil si atunci cand vine vorba de o cina in doi. Din cand in cand, mancarea gatita in casa nu e de ajuns, ai nevoie doar de un locusor linistit, unde sa bei ceva si sa mananci ceva bun. When I don’t have the time or money to travel, I like to take a moment and feel like I’m on vacation in my Bucharest. I try to find the hidden beauty of the city with every step I take. I don’t like to visit the same places every time, it would be boring, so I try to mix it up and try different things. This also counts when we’re planning a dinner out for two. From time to time homecooked meals are not enough, all you need is a quiet place to drink and eat something tasty.

YUMMY PIES IN BUCHAREST

Mereu merg cu placere sa mananc La Placinte; nu am incercat pana acum ceva din meniul lor care sa nu imi placa. Evident, preparatele de baza sunt … placintele, care vin in multe forme si cu arome diferite. Ultima data am incercat invartite cu cartofi si branza de oi, dar la fel de bune sunt cele cu branza de oi si verdeata, pe care le comand mereu cu incredere. Daca nu aveti chef de placinte, apoi, aveti de unde alege, iata ce bine arata puiul invelit in bacon, care vine impreuna cu salata de varza si un sos delicios. Sau un alt preparat nou care mie imi place mult – taitei de casa cu branza de oi. Deserturile sunt toate la fel de bune, fie ca vin sub forma de placinta sau alte bunataturi. Si pentru ca a venit frigul, puteti sa asezonati totul cu un pahar de vin fiert aromat. If I’m in the mood to eat something delicious, then La Placinte (Pie’s place) is a sure bet, you can’t leave disappointed. Obviously, the main dishes are the pies, which come in many shapes and flavors. Last time I tried one with potatoes and sheep cheese, but the ones with cow cheese and herbs are as tasty if not even more so. If you’re not in the mood for pie, you have many other dishes to choose from, the chicken wrapped in bacon is very tasty and it comes with cabbage salad and a delicious sauce. I also love the homemade noodles, that go great with sheep cheese. The desserts are even better, either in pie form or other tasty treats. And because the cold weather is here, you can also order a delicious mulled wine to go with all the goodies.

 

 

 

 

A RELAXING SUNDAY

In ultima vreme am tot visat la momentul asta, o duminica linistita, cu soare si dulciuri. Am inlocuit cafeaua cu o socata proaspata, care mi-a adus aminte de gustul copilariei. Nu putem sa amanam ziua de luni? 🙂 Lately, I’ve been dreaming of this moment, a quiet, sunny Sunday and sweet treats. This time, I’ve replaced my coffee with my mom’s elderflower lemonade. This afternoon reminded me of some sweet childhood moments. Can’t we just postpone Monday? 🙂
