BELLA ITALIA

Post available in English and Romanian

Cand o sa va plictisiti, o plimbare pe malul raului Arno o sa va dezmorteasca. Peisajul arata superb la apus.

My first stay in Italy was about 2 weeks long; I fell in love on the spot. I planned with care all the details: cities to visit and how long we should stay. We didn’t rent a car, we took the plane to Italy and the train in between cities. I’ll write about the hotels in a future post. Until then, let’s begin the trip:

THE BEGINNING: BUCHAREST – PISA

I couldn’t have picked a better place for the start of our trip. During the summer, Pisa is like a breath of fresh air. You’ll spend an entire day admiring the Leaning Tower. Take a deep breath and climb the almost 300 stairs; when you are near the top you can actually feel how inclined the tower is. The tower is located in Piazza dei Miracoli, next to the Duomo, the cemetery and museums. When you get bored, take a walk along the banks of the river Arno . The sunset is amazing.

Florenta, Leaganul Renasterii

Am petrecut mai multe zile in Florenta, oras care a intrat rapid in topul preferintelor mele. Mai multe despre calatoria mea in Florenta puteti citi aici.

Dupa atatea zile de vizitat adevarate minuni am luat o pauza meritata:

RIMINI, O SOLE MIO

From Pisa you can easily go to Cinque Terre or Luca; we didn’t have the chance to do this, our second part of the trip was about to begin:

FLORENCE, the birthplace of the renaissance

We spend some days in Florence, one of my favorite cities. You can read more about our stay here. After we saw all that Florence had to offer, we took a well deserved break:

RIMINI, O SOLE MIO

Blue sea, wide beaches and plenty of ice cream. The perfect recipe for a vacation in Rimini. You can spend some lazy days in the sun and also visit the roman ruins. Rimini is the perfect destination for relaxing.

Cititi aici despre cum e viata in a treia cea mai mica tara din Europa.

Over and out: Bologna si inapoi la Bucuresti

Am terminat sejurul in Italia cu o vizita, pe fuga ce-i drept in Bologna.

SAN MARINO ESCAPE

After you had plenty of sun, you can take a short break and visit San Marino. The small state is only a 45 minute drive from Rimini. You can read here about the life in the third smallest country in Europe.

OVER AND OUT: BOLOGNA AND BACK TO BUCHAREST

We finished the Italy trip with a short visit to Bologna. This is a great city, with a well preserved historic city center. The two towers are the symbol of the city but mostly, Bologna is renowned for its cuisine. Take a walk along the city arches, you won’t be sorry: the Portico is the world’s longest archway (666 arches), measuring almost 4 kilometers.
